Kentucky Butter Cake Recipe

Preparation
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

Grease a 10-inch pipe with cooking spray and dust lightly with flour; put aside. In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Put aside.

In the bowl of a food processor fitted with the paddle attachment, beat butter and sugar for 3 minutes at medium speed. Reduce the mixer speed and the eggs, one at a time. Continue beating for 1 minute.

Alternate adding the flour and butter mixture, ending with flour.

Add vanilla or rum extract. Beat at medium to high speed for 20 seconds. Pour is inserted into the prepared pan and bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick in the center comes out clean.

To make glaze: In a small saucepan, combine the sugar, butter, water and vanilla or rum extract. Not cook. When the cake from the oven prick with a toothpick or wooden fork. Pour the icing on the cake slowly. Let the cake cool completely before you. From the pan
